<image:title>About - Here’s Rob Sears</image:title>
<image:caption>This is where you can learn a few tantalising bits about Rob. Rob was born in Nottinghamshire in England. His earliest memory is of being bitten by a goose through a five-bar gate. He became a watchful child, mistrustful of wildfowl and authority figures alike. As a young man growing up in Essex, he experimented with journalism. The 3T newsletter was banned at his school and may still be the best thing he’s done. Rob studied philosophy and was involved in the theatre scene at university, where he possessed one rollneck. Today he lives in Finsbury Park in London, with his dog, cat and wife. With the series of books about despotic world leaders for which he is best known, Rob wishes to usher in a new era of sane global leadership. Failing that, he would be happy to raise a weak smile on the face of a disillusioned knowledge worker, during a lull in this hellacious rollercoaster timeline we inhabit. Lately, with his illustrated books co-authored with his brother Tom, Rob has been trying to give children and adults alike new and fantastical ways to see giant topics, like the planetary footprint of humankind or the nature of time. Rob isn’t really on social media but periodically says he’s going to try harder.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Strongmen - The Beautiful Poetry of Donald Trump (Reissue, 2024, Canongate) (Biglier edition, 2019, Canongate) (Originally published 2017, Canongate)</image:title>
<image:caption>“Hilarious” -Stewart Lee “A triumph” -Daily Telegraph “This is great” -Peter Serafinowicz What if there's a hidden dimension to Donald Trump; a sensitive, poetic side? Driven by this question, Rob Sears began combing Trump's words for signs of poetry. What he found was a revelation. By simply taking the 45th President of the United States' tweets and transcripts, cutting them up and reordering them, Sears unearthed a trove of beautiful verse that was just waiting to be discovered. This groundbreaking collection will give readers a glimpse of Trump's innermost thoughts and feelings on everything from the nature of truth, to what he hates about Lord Sugar. And it will reveal a hitherto hidden Donald, who may surprise and delight both students and critics alike. This timely publication also includes Sears' scholarly footnotes and introduction, in which he excavates new critical angles and insights into the President's poetry which the casual reader might initially overlook. <image:title>The Strongmen - Choose your own Apocalypse with Kim Jong-un & Friends (2019, Canongate)</image:title>
<image:caption>There are many ways civilisation could end, even with wise, benevolent leaders like Kim Jong-un, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin watching over us. Now, in this fun interactive story of global doom, YOU decide how humanity perishes. Will we be turned to grey goo by Elon Musk's nanobots? Driven collectively insane by Russia's most potent memes? Or smashed to atoms by someone sitting on the wrong button in North Korea? In this book, YOU will meet the leaders with the future of civilisation in their hands. And YOUR wits and judgement will decide how we all inevitably die. Or then again, maybe, just maybe, with a little positive thinking, YOU will find a way to keep us all safe long enough to expire of old age and global warming instead. Just don't get too hopeful. On every page of Choose Your Own Apocalypse with Kim Jong-un & Friends, the end of your choice is most definitely nigh. Amazon Blackwells Foyles</image:caption>

<image:title>The Strongmen - Vladimir Putin: Life Coach (2018, Canongate)</image:title>
<image:caption>What can the rise and reign of this century's most feared politician teach us about life, work and love? Rob Sears shows how the machinations that enabled Putin to dominate the Kremlin and undermine the United States of America could also help you take control of your mundane life. How would you like to ruin your enemies by sharing compromising material about that time they didn't wash their hands? Or annex territory by claiming the stationery cupboard at work as your personal empire? Fancy hacking democracy at the parent-teacher association to ensure you're a shoo-in for social secretary? Or serving up a cold dish called revenge in a high street restaurant? Filled with stories from Putin's extraordinary time in power, and ideas and illustrations to help you emulate him on a small scale, Vladimir Putin: Life Coach is the ultimate guide to releasing the pseudo-elected, judo black-belt, 5D chess-playing autocrat inside each and every one of us. <image:title>Children's books - A Tree is a Time Machine (Coming 2025, Hachette)</image:title>
<image:caption>Take a step back, slow down and see the big picture in this warm, witty and beautifully illustrated book for children and adults celebrating our precious time on Earth. You are invited to travel through the ages in the company of a 4,000-year-old yew tree named Eunice, whose perspective on time is a little bit different to our own. Her wisdom will get you pondering: why is humanity in such a rush lately? Why does time fly and sometimes drag? And how can the actions of one generation change things for those who follow? Guiding you on a journey from the extremely long past to the head-spinning present and the unshaped future, Eunice reminds us that in a world that seems to be travelling at warp speed, taking your time is sometimes the best thing you can do. After all, some of the most important things in life can't be sped up. A Tree is a Time Machine is an antidote to uncertain times, and the perfect gift for anyone who has ever felt like they just want the world to slow down. Pre-order</image:caption>
